This page describes Ammonitopedia's policy regarding personal information and cookies. You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we made.

1. Which data do we collect?

We do not collect any personal data until you create an Ammonitopedia account.

When you create your Ammonitopedia account, you are asked to provide a valid email address. This is the only piece of personal data that we collect.

2. Why do we collect such data?

The main reason for collecting your email address is that it is unique, thus making sure that each account identifier is unique.

Your email address is also used to help you reset your account password if you forget it or if you want to change it. Please note that we will NEVER ask for your password by email! If you ever receive such an email, it does not come from Ammonitopedia. Do not answer to this kind of emails.

Appart from the procedure helping you resetting your password, we will almost never send you emails. We won't send spam or advertisement. We may however send you an email to let you know in advance if we make substantial changes to our terms of use or data policy.

3. Who is processing the data?

Your data will be stored in our database hosted in France and will exclusively be processed by Ammonitopedia. For questions regarding Ammonitopedia, you can contact us.

4. Will the data be disclosed to third parties?

No, your data won't be disclosed to third parties.

5. How can I exercise my rights regarding the data?

The only personnal information we collect is your email address. As your email address is your account identifier, if you no longer want it to be in the Ammonitopedia database, you have to delete your Ammonitopedia accout. You can access the account deletion page from your profile options whenever you want.

If you complete the account deletion procedure, we will delete the following information from our database:

  • your email address;
  • your username;
  • your password.

6. Do we use cookies?

We do not use cookies until you create an Ammonitopedia account.

When you browse the website while being logged in to your Ammonitopedia account, we may use cookies for the following purposes:

  • keeping you logged in to your account when you navigate from one page to another;
  • letting you customize the appearance of some pages;
  • security reasons.

We do not use cookies to track you or your usage of the website.

We do not use cookies for advertisement purposes.
